Big Rivers Creative Maker’s Market is a curated hub of makers, designers and entrepreneurs from the Northern Territory. The market is a combination of art, good food, music, entertainment and a fun community spirit.
Along with creative market stalls, we are setting up the Solar Cinema and holding a special screening of ‘The Song Keepers‘ directed by Naina Sen. The Song Keepers tells the inspiring story of the Central Australian Aboriginal Women’s Choir and their first tour of Germany.
With their charismatic conductor, the choir embarks on an historical tour of Germany, to take back the baroque hymns brought to their great grandparents by German Lutherans but in their own Western Arrarnta and Pitjantjatjara languages.
Come along to shop, explore and discover the very best of the Big Rivers region.
Proudly supported by the Northern Territory Government Department of the Chief Minister and Cabinet, Circulanation, and the Godinymayin Yijard Rivers Arts and Culture Centre, Katherine Regional Arts and Potential Films.
The Big Rivers Creative Maker’s Market will be held at the Godinymayin Yijard Rivers Arts and Culture Centre (GYRACC), Katherine’s premium arts and cultural precinct.
